Background
EAS are providing advice on car parking as part of the redevelopment of a store for the Heart of England Coop. Advice includes:
i. Car park management options including pricing structure and types of parking control.
ii. Financial appraisal of car park management including budget cost of ticket machines and projected revenues.
iii. Advice on requirements for surfacing of the car park and budget costs for resurfacing/reconstruction, lighting and road markings.
iv. Design of drainage requirements in particular at the known ponding area and budget costs for the drainage requirements.
The relationship between the car park pricing policy, the function of the car park alongside other car parks in the town centre and the customer patronage required careful consideration.
The car park has had a number of functions throughout its history and as such the surfacing, levels and drainage require some attention to remove existing issues and provide a more user friendly parking area.
